David learnt to dive on the English south coast, completing his PADI IDC with Ian Forster at Guildenburg Water with the IE in the famous Stony Cove on 1997.

David has worked and dived in numerous countries around the world including, the UK, Malta,  Red Sea, the Caribbean, Bonaire, San Blas Islands, Galapagos, Marquesas, French Polynesia, Tonga, Fiji and for the last 8 years Queensland Australia.

Becoming a Course Director in March 2004, David was awarded a Silver PADI Course Director rating in 2007 by PADI for his commitment and dedication to PADI Instructor Development.

Through Bundaberg Dive Academy (3 D Adventures) and Redcliffe Dive Centre David offers regular IDC training. By offering scheduled IDC’S with speciality instructor training every other month and private courses on request we can ensure that there is a program you can start on straight away.

Specialising in small personal groups and an extended IDC program we encourage new IDC candidates to join us early and assist in dive classes and workshops prior to starting the IDC.  David’s success is attributed to the way he moulds, encourages and nurtures new IDC candidates as they develop their teaching skills in an environment free of the stress that many experience.    

In between IDC’S David keeps his focus on real world skills sharp by teaching all levels of the PADI system right down to the open water course, by doing this it keeps him in touch with the real world of a new dive Instructor.

Dedicated to Instructor Development process and a Speciality Instructor Trainer for 14 speciality areas including , EFR, Work place EFR, Enriched Air, Gas Blender, Wreck, Deep etc David also holds a RYA/DOT Ocean Yacht Master, Open Coxswains, City and Guilds as mechanical engineer, Certificate IV in Workplace training and assessment, NVQ trainer and assessor.
